what you need to know if you would like to book a retreat or workshop in your community

FOR:

- 18+, unless a particular exception has been made

- all skill levels are welcome & accommodated

LOCATION:

- a quiet, well-lit space (preferably with natural light) is required

- appropriate seating and workspace for all participants; everyone will need a seat at a stable tabletop with elbow room

- access to a bathroom, a kitchen, and a coffee maker are necessary

​

ATMOSPHERE:

- this is a retreat into prayerful silence, cultivating a quiet in community; participants are encouraged to pray the Jesus prayer along with their breath as they work

- I will offer instruction quietly as needed throughout the retreat

- participants are encouraged to leave their phones in their cars, or at least to turn them off.

- for longer retreats that include a meal together, we enjoy conversation during the meal

- everyone will choose the option that best suits their skill level & work to complete one of my illuminated manuscript designs; various mediums & levels of detail allow everyone to take home a finished, frameable piece if so desired.

LENGTH VARIATIONS & COST:

- $175:  8 hours: 9am to 5pm (with a one hour lunch break) - this is the ideal option, and it is even better if the participants can have dinner together after the retreat concludes - includes all necessary supplies, coffee, tea, biscuits, wine, & chocolates

- $160:  6 hours: 12:30-6:30pm - includes all necessary supplies, coffee, tea, wine, & chocolates

- $100: 4 hours: (morning, afternoon, or evening) - includes all necessary supplies, coffee/wine 

- $80:  2/3 hours (morning, afternoon, or evening) - includes all necessary supplies, coffee/wine

BRING:

- water bottle

- for longer retreats, a sack lunch

- an apron if desired

FOR:

- 16+, unless a particular exception has been made

- be able to thread a needle & preferably have some knowledge of hand sewing

​

LOCATION:

- a well-lit space (preferably with natural light) is required

- appropriate seating and workspace for all participants; people can sit on sofas, chairs, or the floor, but everyone will need some room to keep their things conveniently accessible

- access to a bathroom, a kitchen, and a coffee maker are necessary

​

ATMOSPHERE:

- this is conversational workshop, and participants are welcome to chat as they work

- the length of the workshop & experience level of the participants will determine in part the design and project we work on

- projects vary from an embroidered fabric square to glasses cases, housewifes, bookmarks, book covers, etc.
